Using it

What is oil pulling?

Oil pulling means swishing oil slowly around your mouth for a few minutes, then spitting it out.

Ours is a coconut-mint rinse you use the same way: swish, then spit.

Is it an oil or a rinse?

It's a liquid you swish, like a mouthwash. The label calls it a “pulling oil.” Water (aqua) comes first on the ingredient list, then coconut oil, so we call it a rinse.

What does it actually do?

It gives your morning a coconut-mint start: swish 1 tablespoon for 2–3 minutes after the retainer comes out, spit, then brush. A tongue scraper comes in the box.

How is it different from mouthwash?

You use it like a mouthwash: swish, then spit.

What's different is the coconut-mint flavor and the longer swish. Swish for at least 2–3 minutes, and up to 10 minutes.

Can I use the coconut oil from my kitchen instead?

You can. Daymint comes ready to pour: 1 tablespoon, the directions printed on the bottle, a coconut-mint flavor and a tongue scraper in the box.

What's in it?

Coconut and mint give it its name.

Aqua (water), Coconut Oil, Glycerin, Panthenol, Peppermint Leaf Extract, Sodium PCA.

How do I use it?
  1. Take your retainer out and clean it the way your orthodontist recommends.
  2. Measure 1 tablespoon (about 15 mL).
  3. Swish for at least 2–3 minutes, and up to 10 minutes. Don't swallow it.
  4. Spit it out. Then brush your teeth, scrape your tongue and rinse.
How often should I use it?

The label describes a daily routine.

Is it for every day?

The label describes a daily routine. Stop using it if irritation occurs.

Can I swallow it?

Spit it out after you swish, as the directions say. Keep it out of reach of children.

How long does a bottle last?

Each bottle holds 100 mL (3.38 fl oz). About 6–7 uses per bottle at 1 tablespoon each.

How many days that covers depends on how often you use it.

One bottle holds about 6–7 uses, and three hold about 20. Delivery takes time after we process your order, so reorder before your last bottle runs out.

How do I reorder before I run out?

One bottle holds about 6–7 uses and three hold about 20.

Delivery takes about 6–12 business days, so reorder when you open your last bottle.

Do I still need toothpaste and floss?

Yes. Keep brushing, flossing and seeing your dentist.

Brush after you swish.

Why does the bottle say Oralhoe?

Daymint is a small online shop with one product. We choose it, explain how to use it, and help you with your order.

Retainers

Can I use it if I wear a retainer?

Only with your retainer out.

Take your retainer out first, and clean it the way your orthodontist recommends. Never put this rinse on your retainer or soak your retainer in it.

Have a bonded retainer, attachments or other dental work? Ask your orthodontist or dentist before you start.

Do I keep cleaning my retainers?

Yes, the way your orthodontist recommends. Daymint is for your mouth, before you brush, while the retainer sits in its case.

Where does Daymint fit in my routine?

Right after your retainers come out and before you brush: swish 1 tablespoon for 2–3 minutes, spit, then brush, floss and finish as usual. Your retainer cleaning stays exactly the same.

If your breath bothers you most mornings, talk to your dentist.

Orders & subscription

Is this a subscription?

Yes. The Single Bottle and the 3-Bottle Bundle are one-time purchases. No subscription and no future charges.

Why buy three?

Three bottles cost less per bottle than three singles: $25.00 a bottle instead of $31.99.

Why is the bundle cheaper per bottle?
